About the Teaching and Learning Foundation

The Foundation supports:

1) Programs to improve the preparation and highly-qualifying of practicing elementary and secondary teachers in all subjects they teach leading to improved student achievement, graduation rates, college and workforce readiness, assisting in national economic development through these outcomes.

2) Programs designed to assist in the recruitment, development and retention of teachers

3) Efforts to create instructional support materials that are subject-specific and grade appropriate written by expert practicing teachers of those subjects

4) Development of engaging, affordable, and easy-to-use labs, activities and curricula for the sustained professional development of teachers (as opposed to short-term work shops)
